In 2015 I was diagnosed with MS; an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and the body. As part of my self-help programme I had a once a month, head to toe massage with Tracy Coulson, a sports therapist. I found that this greatly helped with my mobility problems.
Tracy told me that she intended to purchase a TheraPlate, a machine based on NASA technology and which had widely reported success in the US. She asked whether I would be prepared to act as a guinea pig and we set up a system whereby I would receive regular treatment and score the effect upon a range of areas in my body which experienced constant MS symptoms.
From the very first session, following the protocols for those living with MS, I felt benefits and over the course of the next few weeks I found that I was pain free. In addition I found a level of suppleness that I hadn’t enjoyed since I became ill. My balance improved and my spasms had disappeared. There was also a great improvement in my ME symptoms and my brain felt clearer. Overall I found that my quality of life improved by over 60% and my happiness quota was similarly increased when I found that, with practice, I could once again perform a flow yoga sequence called Sun Salutation. Senseless perhaps to lots of people but for me a major, major milestone.
I was prepared to experiment with frequency and settings to find the right protocol for me. This took time and I am eternally grateful to the patience and support shown by Tracy throughout this process. Her dedication to the wellbeing of her clients, whatever their need, is outstanding. TheraPlate has, without doubt, earned its’ place in my self-help programme. For me, Theraplate has become an indispensable part of my life.
